Daniele Ghedalia obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Materials and Nanotechnology Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2017. In the same year, he started his Master’s degree in Materials Science at ETH Zurich. During his studies, he also worked at the ABB corporate research center in Baden, where he contributed to the development and characterization of Spark-Plasma-Sintered Neodymium-Iron-Boron permanent magnets employed in electric motors and generators. In 2018, he worked at CMAS Lab for a semester project, focusing on understanding the effects of manufacturing imperfections on the mechanical response of thin-ply composite self-expandable devices. Daniele concluded his studies in 2020 as a visiting student researcher at the Space Structures Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), under the supervision of Prof. Sergio Pellegrino, where he wrote his thesis about the “Time-dependent Damage Behavior of High-Strain Composites”.
