Besler, Ilyas

Ilyas Besler obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zürich. During his studies, he gained practical experience working for various university projects developing an underwater robot for Disney Research and later as technical lead for Swissloop, designing a prototype for the SpaceX Hyperloop Competition of Elon Musk. Next to his studies, he worked as mechanical systems engineer in the industry for Xingyu Lighting Systems in Changzhou, Pilatus Aircraft in Stans and Faun Umwelttechnik in Bremen. At CMASLab, Ilyas is investigating novel ultra-lightweight aircraft structures by combining additive manufacturing and fiber-reinforced polymer.
