Mukherjee, Aghna, Dr.

Aghna Mukherjee is presently a Post-doctoral researcher at the CMAS Lab. He joined the CMAS Lab in 2021. His research predominantly focuses on structural instability-based designs, nonlinear mechanics of lightweight composite structures, and smart actuation. He is currently working on the Innosuisse project to develop a deployable boom for a satellite in partnership with ClearSpace.

Aghna Mukherjee completed his Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), where he worked at the Smart Material Characterization Lab (SMCL) and the Vibration Energy Harvesting and Control Lab (VEHCL). His work at IIT Madras involved the development of integrable bistable structural components and their actuation systems using smart solid-state actuators for morphing applications. Before this, Aghna obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT-D).
