ftero3 - Airborne Wind Energy
The third iteration of the ftero focus project focuses on the automation and efficiency increase of the previously developed AWE System
Eight mechanical engineering students will work on the refinement and improvement of the previously developed AWE system with the goal of producing renewable energy at a small scale. Their aim is to incorporate novel methods and manufacturing techniques to realize a light-weight, durable and highly efficient aircraft. The autonomy of the aircraft will be further pushed, and a complete system will be developed, incorporating and combining the mobile ground station.
The integration of a morphing concept into the aircraft will improve the aerodynamic properties of the aircraft, maximizing the possible power production of the system.
